California Native Plants
With its varied climates, California boasts a wide variety of native plants, many of them
endemic to our state. As perennial romantics and lovers of nature, we are drawn to the plants we have come across while out hiking or exploring. These plants are adapted to life in California, but is important to remember that they make themselves at home in varied conditions. In other words, though many are, not all California natives are drought tolerant, and not all are deer resistant, a common misconception (for deer resistant plants, see the deer resistant plant listings). But capturing the beauty of our glorious state is too tempting to resist, as is honoring the biodiversity naturally found in California.
